Columbus man identified as victim in deadly apartment complex shooting
A Columbus man has been identified as the deceased victim from a Tuesday afternoon shooting.
The shooting occurred around 3 P.M. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 4343 Warm Springs Road, the address of The Lakes Apartments complex.
Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan says 28-year-old Martavis McKinney was pronounced deceased at 3:21 P.M. from a gunshot wound to the left shoulder blade.
Bryan says the shooting occurred after a domestic dispute. McKinney’s family has been notified.
The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the shooting.
