LaGrange Mayor urges community to continue to help fight crime through Tip411 system, applauds police and community in recent arrests
LaGrange Mayor Jim Arrington is encouraging residents to continue using the City’s anonymous tip411 system to report suspicious activity, following the swift arrest of four suspects connected to a recent drive-by shooting.
On August 12, around 3:36 p.m., Troup County 911 received a report of gunfire exchanged between two vehicles near DeGroat and Davis Streets. Within minutes, LaGrange Police located a suspect vehicle, confirmed it had bullet damage, and recovered several weapons, including two 9mm handguns and an AK-style rifle. The suspects, identified as Kadarius Carr, Antonio Nelson, and Keshawn Williams, and Dontavious Avery, were in custody within seven minutes of the initial call.
Mayor Arrington praised the rapid police response, highlighting the vital role the community played. “When the community works with our officers, we can effectively fight crime,” he said, urging the community to continue their use of the tip411 system.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anonymous tips can be submitted through the tip411 app, the LaGrange Police Department’s website, or by texting LAGRANGE to 847411.
