Armed robbery suspect found hiding in attic after incident at Beulah home
Lee County investigators have arrested an armed robbery suspect who was found hiding in the attic of a Beulah home during a search warrant.
Lee County deputies responded to the 8000 block of U.S. Highway 29 North, located in the Beulah community of the county, after a victim called authorities stating there was an armed robbery.
“Upon arrival, deputies met with the victim who stated that he was texting with a female and was supposed to meet her at the residence. When he arrived, he was met at the front door by an individual wielding a knife and a pair of brass knuckles,” sheriff’s officials said. “The suspect demanded money. When the suspect found out that there was no money, he took the victim’s shoes, necklace, and ring.”
Following an investigation by Lee County Investigators, a search warrant was issued for the residence. During the search, 20-year-old Jerrick Landon Hamby, of Cusseta, AL, was found hiding in the attic. Hamby was taken into custody.
“The knife, brass knuckles and all of the victim’s property were recovered from inside of the residence,” investigators added.
Hamby was arrested and charged with Robbery First Degree. He is being held in the Lee County Detention Center with no bond.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at 334-749-5651 or Central Alabama Crime Stoppers at 334-215-STOP (7867).
