SBI investigating officer-involved shooting in Tallassee following call; armed suspect hospitalized
Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Bureau of Investigations is conducting an investigation after an officer involved shooting in Tallassee.
The shooting occurred in the 2900 block of Notasulga Road around 3:05 P.M. on Friday, August 22, 2025, when authorities responded to a domestic violence call. As officers worked the call for service, authorities say, an individual armed with a firearm discharged the weapon causing officers to shoot the suspect.
The suspect, later identified as Adam Davis, 38, was transported by helicopter to Piedmont Hospital in Columbus, Ga., for medical treatment. No officers were injured during the course of the incident.
“A federal detainer has been issued for Davis by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for Felon in Possession of a Firearm,” state authorities said. “Once released from the hospital the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office will transport Davis to the Muscogee County Jail for extradition back to Alabama. Davis also has pending charges for Domestic Violence.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
