Law enforcement presence reported at Shirley B. Winston Recreation Center
A heavy law enforcement presence is underway at this hour in east Columbus following a deadly shooting
The presence is taking place at Shirley B. Winston Recreation Center on Steam Mill Road.
Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office, Muscogee County School District Police Department, Columbus Police Department, and Georgia State Patrol are on scene.
Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan confirms his office is on the scene of a homicide. Police have confirmed one person has been pronounced deceased.
The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating.
