The FBI’s Atlanta Field Office is now offering a $15,000 reward for information in the 2021 murder of a Columbus store clerk.
The murder and armed robbery of Amit Patel took place at the Synovus Bank on Buena Vista Road, on December 6, 2021.
Patel was visiting the bank to deposit operational proceeds from his local business.
“As the victim approached the front door of the bank, two unknown suspects, driving a stolen Toyota Tacoma with missing license plates, pulled into the parking lot,” the Federal Bureau of Investigation said. “One of the unknown suspects exited the vehicle, pulled out a firearm, and shot and killed the victim as he was attempting to enter the bank.”
After shooting the victim, the unknown suspect robbed him of all the U.S. currency he was carrying.
Both unknown suspects departed the parking lot in the stolen Toyota Tacoma.
