Charlie Kirk vigil underway on Auburn University campus; police present
A vigil for Charlie Kirk, a political activist who was assassinated in Utah, is underway.
The vigil is taking place on Auburn University’s campus near Toomer’s Corner — directly in front of Hargis Hall.
A police presence from Auburn Police Department and Auburn Campus Safety are in the area as the vigil takes place.
Turning Point USA – Auburn University announced on social media the vigil would be held directly after a pep rally for the university’s homecoming game. A large crowd gathered to hear the president of Turning Point USA-Auburn, Jacob Roose, speak about Kirk’s legacy.
Kirk was killed by 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, as Kirk spoke at Utah Valley University during an event. Robinson was taken into custody after a 48-hour manhunt.
