Montgomery Cold Case Unit seeks public’s help in solving 2023 murder of Tuskegee teen
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Cold Case Unit is asking for the public’s help in solving the tragic murder of 15-year-old Jordan Lashelle Fitzpatrick, a Tuskegee teen who was reported missing over two years ago.
Jordan was last seen around March 22, 2023, in Macon County. Her remains were discovered months later on August 18, 2023, behind a building in the 2300 block of Poplar Street in Montgomery.
At the time, police were unable to identify the victim due to the body being extensively burned. The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences later determined the cause of death to be homicide.
In 2025, a breakthrough came through genetic genealogy, which helped cold case investigators identify a DNA profile linked to Jordan.
This led to a confirmed identification on September 25, 2025, after forensic scientists matched the profile to DNA collected during the autopsy.
Investigators are now urging anyone with information about Jordan’s disappearance or death to come forward.
Anyone with tips is encouraged to contact the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office at (334) 832-2550.
Please share to help bring justice for Jordan.
