High-speed chase ends in east Columbus; driver detained
A high speed chase which began across the river ended in east Columbus.

CNAW2News first received reports of the high-speed chase, which started in Russell County, around midnight on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Shortly thereafter, the chase ended when the driver crashed the Hyundia Tucson in a wooded area near Mays Avenue and Maplewood Drive in east Columbus.

Our CNAW2News photographer spotted one male subject in handcuffs surrounded by law enforcement from both sides of the river.

The Hyundai Tucson was towed off from the scene. The scene was eventually cleared around 12:47 A.M.
