Troup County pursuit leads to deadly crash
A Troup County pursuit Monday led to a deadly crash near I-185 at I-85 interchange.
The pursuit began on Interstate 185 North around 8:44 A.M., on November 24, 2025, when Troup County Sheriff’s Office attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a green 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT, according to Georgia State Patrol.
The driver then exited onto the Interstate 85 S Interchange, where the driver ran off the roadway at the entrance of a curve, striking multiple trees prior to overturning.
The driver succumbed to his injuries at West Georgia Wellstar Regional Hospital. The driver’s identity has not been released.
