Multiple Lee County fire departments respond to overnight house fire
An overnight house fire has been extinguished by Lee County fire crews.
Crews with Smiths Station, Beulah, and Salem fire departments along with Lee County Deputies responded to a residential structure fire at approximately 3:00 am CST on Saturday, November 29, 2025, in the 2300 block of Lee Road 279.
Heavy smoke and fire was visible from the structure upon arrival of firefighters, with the occupants also outside.
The occupants were alerted to the fire by smoke alarms within the residence, and were able to escape through the back door, after the fire blocked them from exiting from the front door
“This fire is an excellent example of the importance of having working smoke alarms and knowing multiple ways of escape from your home,” Smiths Station Fire Chief Blake Green said.
The fire was extinguished around 8 A.M. There were no injuries to the occupants or first responders.
