Chase ends in crash on Hwy. 280 in Farmville
A high speed chase which began in Tallapoosa County has ended in Lee County.
The chase began around 6:40 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026 on U.S. Highway 280 within Tallapoosa County.
The chase came to an abrupt end when the fleeing vehicle crashed and overturned on the highway near Lee Road 46.
Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Auburn Police Department, EAMC ETS, Camp Hill Police Department, Dadeville Police Department, and other agencies are on the scene.
At least one eastbound lane is shut down while officials work the scene. Please avoid the area until further notice.
