Fire crews extinguishing structure fire in Mount Olive community
Fire crews are extinguishing a structure fire in the Mount Olive community of Russell County.
The fire broke out at a shed on a property on Griggs Road near Mt. Olive Lane around 8 p.m. central standard time on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026.
Mount Olive and Fort Mitchell volunteer fire departments, along with Phenix City Police Department and CARE Ambulance responded to the scene.
It appears a shed located in the middle of two other sheds became fully involved in the fire. It also appears that the shed which caught fire is completely destroyed and the remnants are the only thing left.
It appears volunteer firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze before it reached the two other sheds and the woodline behind it.
No injuries have been reported at this time. Crews responded to this same area yesterday for a brush fire. At this time, it is unclear if the two fires are related.
Expect a first responder presence in the area as crews continue to work.
