Deputy struck by vehicle on Wynnton Road in Columbus
A law enforcement presence is underway in Columbus.
The presence is taking place in the area of Wynnton Road and Lawyers Lane. Columbus Fire and EMS and the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office are on scene.
Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman said one of his deputies was struck by a vehicle. He is being transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene. The road is blocked while officials investigate.
