Police arrest man after toddler suffers weeks of abuse in Manchester
A man was arrested after a toddler was found suffering weeks of abuse in Manchester.
The investigation by the Manchester Police Department began on March 25, 2026, after a three-year-old boy was flown to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta following a call at a residence in the 1500 block of Nebula Road Lots.
Police say detectives found the child had suffered physical abuse inflicted by the child’s mother’s boyfriend, Jonathan White. The abuse occurred for over a month, leading to a broken leg, extensive contusions throughout his body and other severe injuries.
“Investigators also documented injuries consistent with having his hair forcibly pulled, being choked, slammed, and isolated,” police said.
White was taken into custody with the assistance of deputies from the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office, who played a critical role in preventing the suspect from fleeing the state.
White was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated battery, three counts of cruelty to children in the first degree, and one count of cruelty to children in the second degree
White was also found to be on felony probation at the time of his arrest.
The investigation remains ongoing.
