Multiple agencies seize drugs, cash and firearms in Eufaula raid; two arrested
A coordinated narcotics investigation led to the seizure of large quantities of drugs, cash, and firearms following a search warrant executed on April 1, 2026, in Eufaula.
According to the police, agents with the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) Region B and the Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force carried out the operation as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal drug activity.
During the search, authorities seized approximately 557 grams of amphetamine pills, 189 grams of opioid pills, seven pounds of marijuana, and two pounds of synthetic cannabinoids. Investigators also recovered precursor chemicals believed to be used in drug manufacturing, $64,120 in U.S. currency, and four firearms.
Two Eufaula residents were arrested as a result of the operation:
Johnrecis Jones, 35, is charged with three counts of drug trafficking, one count of unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance in the first degree, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Shavannah Moreland, 36, is charged with two counts of drug trafficking and one count of unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance in the first degree.
Both suspects are currently being held without bond at the Eufaula City Jail.
Officials say the ADETF is made up of multiple agencies across the region, including sheriff’s offices and police departments from Henry, Houston, Dale, Coffee, and Covington counties, along with the Eufaula Police Department and Geneva Police Department, working in partnership with ALEA’s State Bureau of Investigation.
Law enforcement says the success of the operation highlights the importance of interagency collaboration in combating drug trafficking and keeping communities safe.
