Rosehill Seafood restaurant fire under investigation, officials confirm
Early Wednesday morning, a popular restaurant in Columbus caught on fire.
Fire and police officials responded to Rosehill Seafood, which is located near the intersection of Hamilton Road and 26th Street, right before daybreak on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
The fire was contained to one area of the building, according to Daniel Macon, the deputy chief at Columbus Fire and EMS.
Eight apparatus and 30 personnel responded to the scene to extinguish the blaze. Thankfully, no one was injured in the blaze.
The fire scene remains under investigation, Macon said.
The seafood restaurant has been a staple in the community since 1976, serving Southern-style fried catfish and oysters. The restaurant closed in 2025 due to staffing issues, but was reopened by a new owner.
This is a developing story.
