One juvenile arrested, another released following investigation after 110 MPH chase through Beulah
UPDATE: I’m told the 15-year-old was released. The 17-year-old has been taken into custody and taken to the Lee County Youth Development Center.
Law enforcement in Lee County detained two juveniles Thursday following a high-speed chase.
The chase began during the afternoon hours of Thursday, May 28, 2026, after a Lee County deputy initiated a traffic stop on a red Mercedes for a tag violation.
According to authorities, the driver immediately fled, leading deputies on a pursuit through the Beulah community at speeds reaching 110 mph while the driver and passenger threw items from the vehicle.
The chase came to an end near the intersection of Lee Road 272 and Lee Road 275.
Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones said the passenger complied with deputies’ commands, while the driver refused. Deputies eventually approached the Mercedes, but the driver continued to resist arrest.
As deputies attempted to remove the driver from the vehicle, the driver assaulted one of the deputies before eventually being taken into custody.
Sheriff Jones said the occupants of the vehicle were 15-year-old and 17-year-old males. Deputies later located several firearms, including a handgun reported stolen out of Auburn, along with drug paraphernalia.
Both juveniles are currently at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office being processed.
