According to police, the homicide occurred on June 1, 2021, at approximately 9:15 p.m. EST at an apartment located at 1500 11th Avenue, Apartment 108-A, in Phenix City.
Authorities said several gunshots were heard by witnesses that evening, prompting multiple 911 calls. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Mason deceased on the front porch of her residence from apparent gunshot wounds.
Investigators conducted numerous interviews and followed up on leads in the case. However, police say all known leads have been exhausted, and the homicide remains unsolved nearly five years later.
Mason was a student at Columbus Technical College and was pursuing a career as a pharmacist. She is survived by her daughter, mother, father, sisters, and brothers.
The Phenix City Police Department is now asking anyone with information—no matter how small it may seem—to come forward. Investigators hope new information could revive efforts to identify and prosecute the person responsible for Mason’s death.
A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the offender.
Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact Sgt. Doleman at (334) 448-2796 or Capt. Isabel at (334) 448-2836.
