One injured in Smiths Station crash
First responders rushed to the scene of a midday crash in Smiths Station today.
The crash occurred around 12:15 p.m. eastern time on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, when a Chevrolet pickup went off the roadway and into the woods near the intersection of Lee Road 246 and Lee Road 298.
Officials with Smiths Station Fire and Rescue, EAMC ETS, Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency responded to the scene.
The driver was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional by an EAMC ETS ambulance. The roadway was eventually reopened.
The driver’s condition remains unknown.
