Large first responder presence underway at Muscogee County Jail
A large law enforcement presence is underway at the Muscogee County Jail.
The presence consists of several fire engines, ladder trucks, and at least three ambulances. Numerous Muscogee County deputies, investigators and patrol officers from the Columbus Police Department have continued to roll into the jail.
Law enforcement appear to be staging cruisers in the side parking lot near Tenth Street and Sixth Avenue, while the fire presence is located in the area near the jail’s sally port.
We are told a fire was reported leading to the presence. It is unclear if anyone was injured.
Details have not been confirmed by the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office or the Columbus Fire and EMS.
This is a developing story.
