Columbus police investigating deadly overnight shooting on 31st Ave.
Columbus police are investigating an early morning shooting.
The shooting occurred near the intersection of 31st Avenue and Delta Street during the early morning hours of Monday, June 22, 2026.
Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan says 17-year-old Jayveon Bell was pronounced dead at 6:32 a.m. from a gunshot wound.
Bell will be taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for an autopsy.
The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit remains investigating the incident. Anyone with information is urged to call 911.
