Lee County deputies investigating reported shooting at home on Lee Road 197
A wild early morning scene in the Phenix City area of Lee County after gunfire erupted.
The incident occurred at a residence in the 800 block of Lee Road 197, just east of Lee Road 2030, around 2:20 a.m. eastern time on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
At least one victim was transported to a nearby hospital by Smiths Station Fire and Rescue’s Med One.
As of 7:30 this morning, evidence technicians and sheriff’s investigators were on the scene collecting evidence, which included shell casings, two long-style weapons, and a backpack. Investigators were also seen walking in and out of a home and examining a white Toyota Camry.
This is an ongoing investigation.
