Columbus fire crews extinguish late-night house fire
Columbus fire crews responded to a house fire late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
The fire was reported in the 100 block of Springfield Avenue, just off North Lumpkin Road, just around midnight on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
16 firefighters from five apparatuses responded to the scene and extinguished the fire at the “single-residence” home, according to Columbus Fire Deputy Chief Daniel Macon.
Macon said the fire is still under investigation, and no injuries were reported.
An additional fire was reported later Wednesday morning in east Columbus. We are working to get details on that fire.
