Columbus Airport begins search for new Chief of Public Safety
The Columbus Airport is preparing to begin its search for a new Chief of Public Safety following the resignation of the airport’s previous chief.
The Chief of Public Safety is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the airport’s public safety operations and advancing its commitment to safety, security, service and operational excellence.
The position will provide leadership and oversight for both law enforcement and Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) operations at the airport. The chief will also lead the professionals responsible for protecting passengers, employees, tenants, visitors and the broader airport community.
Airport officials said the leadership transition will not change the airport’s commitment to maintaining high standards of public safety and operational readiness.
“Safety is at the center of everything we do at the Columbus Airport,” said Delois “Dee” Marsh, chairwoman of the Columbus Airport Commission. “As we prepare to identify our next Chief of Public Safety, we are looking forward to welcoming an experienced leader who understands the unique responsibilities of airport public safety and shares our commitment to professionalism, service, accountability, and community.”
The airport said it is seeking a highly qualified public safety professional who can provide strong leadership, support the continued development of the public safety team and help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for those who travel through or work at the airport.
Details about the position’s qualifications, application requirements and official application process will be released once the position is formally posted.
Airport leadership also expressed appreciation for the continued support of the Columbus community and surrounding region as the airport enters the next phase of its public safety leadership.
