Meriwether County man arrested on child molestation charge in Troup County
A 63-year-old Meriwether County man has been arrested following an investigation into allegations that he inappropriately touched a family member under the age of 13 in Troup County.
According to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, the incident was initially reported to the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office. The case was later referred to Troup County authorities after investigators confirmed the alleged offense occurred within Troup County.
Investigators with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division arrested Terry Prestridge, 63, at his home on September 17.
Prestridge was transported to the Troup County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of Child Molestation.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains ongoing.
