Mt. Olive Intermediate principal addresses reports of weapon on Campus
Mt. Olive Intermediate School Principal Derrick Lane is addressing concerns circulating Wednesday regarding a reported incident at the school.
In a message to families, Lane said the information being shared about events that reportedly occurred at the school was inaccurate and emphasized that there was no weapon on campus.
“I want to reassure you that no incidents occurred today that placed the safety or well-being of our students at risk,” Lane said. “At no time were there any weapons on our campus or any threat involving a weapon.”
Lane said the safety of students remains the school’s top priority and that families would be notified if an incident occurs that impacts the safety of students or the school.
“If an incident occurs that impacts the safety of your child or our school, we will communicate with families and provide accurate information as appropriate,” Lane said.
Lane thanked families for their continued trust and support of the school’s faculty and staff.
