Boat overturns, woman dives off island on Chattahoochee River in separate incidents
A boat overturned and a woman dived off the rocks at Waveshaper Island in separate incidents on the Chattahoochee River Sunday afternoon.
Columbus Fire and EMS crews responded to the river after a small boat overturned with multiple occupants being on the boat. All occupants are uninjured and accounted for. We understand the occupants were wearing life jackets.
During the rescue operation, a woman then dived head first off the rocks at Waveshaper Island. The woman was then rescued and transported by an ambulance to a nearby hospital.
No other details have been released nor confirmed.
