Arrest made in fatal shooting of teenage boy at Columbus rec center
Columbus Police Department and the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office continue to work together to make arrests in connection to murder cases. The latest murder case to have an arrest was the shooting death of Deshaunvia Lindsey.
Lindsey was shot and killed outside of a Columbus recreation center on 8th Street. The fatal shooting occurred on Monday, September 18, 2023.
Camario Carter was arrested by Muscogee County deputies on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. He is charged with Murder and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime in connection to the crime.
Carter is also facing charges by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for 14 counts of Entering an Auto and 3 Counts of Theft by Taking.
The investigation into the fatal shooting remains ongoing.
