Man arrested in kidnapping attempt of child in Oakland Park
A Columbus man is being held at the Muscogee County Jail without bond.
An investigation by Muscogee County School District Police Department and Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Unit began after the attempted kidnapping of a child who was walking to school in Oakland Park on September 29, 2023.
Javonte Oden has been arrested and facing charges including two counts of probation violation, failure to register as a sex offender, and kidnapping – criminal attempt. Authorities remain investigating.
