Structure fire reported at business on Opelika Road in Phenix City
Several fire crews from Lee and Russell counties are on the scene of a structure fire Saturday afternoon.
The structure fire is taking place at Mid-South Auto Parts on Opelika Road in Phenix City. Smiths Station Fire Chief Blake Green says Smiths Station Fire and Rescue responded for a mutual aid request from Ladonia Volunteer Fire Department.
SSFR units arrived within 6 minutes to find a commercial structure with heavy smoke showing from the roof.
SSFR worked with Ladonia VFD and Crawford VFD to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is still undetermined.
