Jonesboro man killed in early morning crash on JR Allen Pkwy. in Columbus
A Jonesboro man is dead after possibly suffering a medical episode while driving along JR Allen Parkway and crashing into a wooded area alongside the highway.
The crash, which involved a tractor trailer, occurred on JR Allen Parkway between Bradley Park Drive and River Road around 7:22 A.M. on Thursday, February 1, 2024. Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan says 65-year-old Matthew St. Clair, of Jonesboro, Georgia, was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional and pronounced dead at 7:52 A.M. in the emergency room. Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan says an autopsy has been scheduled to determine what led to St. Clair’s death.
The crash is under investigation by Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office.
