Medical helicopter on scene of serious crash on I-85 near Exit 62 in Opelika
A serious crash is leaving both southbound lanes of Interstate 85 in Opelika.
The vehicle crash, possibly involving three vehicles, occurred on Interstate 85 south between Exit 62 and Exit 64 in Opelika. Officials say two people were transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional, one via Air Evac and another via ambulance, in unknown condition.
OPD’s Traffic Homicide Investigations unit is conducting the crash investigation as a precaution in the event one of the injured persons does pass away.
Expect delays in the area.
