Columbus man killed in Russell County motorcycle crash
A Columbus man has died after a motorcycle crash Friday afternoon in the Seale community of Russell County.
The single-vehicle crash occurred shortly before 3:40 P.M. on Friday, February 23, 2024 on Alabama Highway 26 near mile marker 12.
56-year-old Edward J. Schwan, Jr. was fatally injured when the 2023 Kawasaki motorcycle he was operating left the roadway and struck a power pole. Schwan was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
