SSFR extinguishes trash fire in Delta Foods parking lot on Lee Road 240
Smiths Station Fire and Rescue were busy as the sun rose this morning extinguishing a fire in a parking lot.
Smiths Station Fire Chief Blake Green says the department was dispatched to a trash truck on fire, and as crews arrived they found the driver had dumped the contents of the truck in the parking lot of Delta Foods, and the contents were on fire.
“Crews were able to extinguish the fire and prevent damage to any property,” Chief Blake Green added. “Crews remained on the scene monitoring the trash while the company cleaned the scene.”
There was no property damage or injuries.
