Wrights Mill Road bridge closed after major crash reported in area
Multiple agencies are on the scene of a major crash, as well as a nearby bridge being blocked, in Auburn.
Auburn Public Safety says the Wrights Mill Road bridge is closed at the interstate but didn’t provide an exact cause of the closure. ALGO says a major crash occurred in the area, but also didn’t provide an exact cause of the bridge closure.
Lee County EMA Director Rita Smith has confirmed EMA personnel are on the scene, and ALDOT is on scene assessing the extent of the damage to the bridge. Drivers can use Ogletree Road or East University Drive to detour depending which way they are going on Wrights Mill Road. This remains a developing story.
