Three officers shot in southwest Atlanta, police confirm
Multiple Atlanta police officers are at Grady Hospital this evening after they were shot in the line of duty.
Atlanta Police said officers were responding to a call regarding shots fired at 1430 Desoto Avenue Southwest. Officers have sustained gunshot wounds, but are alert, conscious and breathing, police confirmed.
They are receiving treatment at Grady Hospital at this time.
“I am devastated that we are at this place again where senseless gun violence has injured 3 of our APD officers. My thoughts are with these officers and their families, and we are cooperating fully with this ongoing investigation,” City of Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said in a statement. “Thanks to the surgeons and staff at Grady Hospital for ensuring that our officers will survive.”
This remains a developing story.
