Detectives investigating after man shot on 1st Street in Lanett
Lanett police are investigating a shooting which occurred Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities responded to reports of a male shooting victim in the 1200 block of 1st Street shortly after 1:30 A.M. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. The victim was shot in the back and after a brief search of the area officers located the victim at the rear of the residence.
The victim was treated at the scene and a short time later air lifted to a regional trauma center with what was later determined to be non-life threatening injuries.
“In the course of the investigation a residence in the 1300 block of 1st Street was discovered to have been struck by gunfire,” police said. “None of the occupants of the home were injured.”
