Man shot, killed at Avalon Apartments in Columbus
Columbus police are investigating a deadly shooting at a south side apartment complex.
The shooting occurred in an apartment of Building 5 at Avalon Apartments located on 3737 Cusseta Road shortly after noon on Friday, May 17, 2024.
Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan says 20-year-old Raquise Walls suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at 12:42 P.M. at Piedmont Columbus Regional emergency room. The next of kin has been identified and an autopsy has been scheduled.
This is the eighteenth homicide this year and the first homicide for the month of May.
