UPDATE: Pedestrian dies after being struck on JR Allen Pkwy
A pedestrian who was struck on JR Allen Parkway earlier this week has passed away.
The pedestrian versus vehicle collision occurred in the evening hours of Friday, May 31, 2024 on JR Allen Parkway between Moon Road and Veterans Parkway exits.
48-year-old Loverne Warren was pronounced dead at Piedmont Columbus Regional Intensive Care Unit, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan. Her family has been notified. No autopsy will be performed.
The Columbus Police Department’s Motor Squad is continuing to lead the investigation.
