Pedestrian struck, killed overnight on Buena Vista Road
Columbus police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle early Sunday morning.

The collision occurred around 3:40 A.M. on July 7, 2024, in the 3500 block of Buena Vista Road near Steam Mill Road. Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan identified the pedestrian as 55-year-old Patrick James Nerber. Nerber was pronounced dead on scene at 4 A.M.
The police department’s Motor Squad and Crime Scene Investigations Division was called to the scene.
