Husband shot by wife at 169 Bar and Grill in Lee County overnight
Lee County deputies are investigating a shooting overnight at a bar and grill just southeast of Opelika,
Deputies responded to the shooting around 1:30 A.M. on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 169 Bar and Grill near the intersection of S Uniroyal Road and SR-169. A 45-year-old male was found suffering from single gunshot wound to the abdomen in the parking lot, according to Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones.

Deputies arrested 38-year-old Heather M. Manning, of Opelika, at the scene for Domestic Violence 1st and Assault 1st charges. Jones also confirmed the victim was the suspect’s husband and a .40 caliber handgun was recovered at the scene,
The condition of the victim remains unknown.
