Opelika man killed in Auburn officer involved shooting
An officer involved shooting in Auburn has left an Opelika man dead.
The officer involved shooting occurred just after 9:30 P.M. CDT on Labor Day at The Magnolia at Auburn apartment complex.
Lee County Coroner Daniel Sexton confirmed 21-year-old Amari Justin Young, of Opelika was pronounced at 10:21 P.M. CDT.
Mr. Young’s body was taken to Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for a postmortem exam. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Bureau of Investigations is conducting an investigation into the shooting and more details on the incident are expected later today.
