Donald J. Trump secures election
Donald J. Trump has won the Presidential Election, according to the Associated Press.
Trump was able to secure the election after winning in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Trump won with 277 electoral college votes. Trump (R) ran against Vice President Kamala Harris (D) in a close and important race.
Trump’s political career began in 2015 when he announced his candidacy for the presidency as a Republican. Running on a platform of economic nationalism, immigration reform, and “America First” policies, he won the Republican nomination and subsequently defeated Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.
During his presidency, Trump implemented significant tax cuts, deregulation, and a conservative judicial agenda, including the appointment of three Supreme Court justices. His tenure was marked by contentious policies and rhetoric, particularly on immigration, trade, and foreign relations. Trump’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2020 election results, which he contested, were also highly controversial.
After losing the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden, Trump continued to be a significant figure in American politics, maintaining a strong base of supporters and influencing the direction of the Republican Party.
The 47th President of the United States is Donald J. Trump.
