Columbus Consolidated Government, community mourns the loss of Sandra Davis, Clerk of Council
Over the weekend, the Columbus community received the news of the passing of the Clerk of Council Sandra Davis.
Columbus Consolidated Government released a statement Tuesday about the passing of Sandra Davis.
Sandra was a dedicated and respected member of the Columbus Consolidated Government, who contributed greatly to the success and integrity of the City of Columbus. She will be remembered for her professionalism, commitment, and the positive impact she made throughout her years of service.
At this time, the family has not released any funeral arrangements. In the statement, the city asked for privacy for her family during this difficult period.
Mayor Skip Henderson shared his condolences, saying, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Clerk of Council Sandra Davis. Not only was Sandra an exceptionally knowledgeable professional and compassionate servant leader, but she was also our friend. We will miss her very much. Our prayers go out to her family and all who know her.”
Columbus City Councilwoman Toyia Tucker expressed her feelings of sadness and grief in a statement over the weekend by saying:
This morning I woke up with a heavy heart. My mind was on my uncle who passed in 2023. I made a comment about life being so precious. At that time I had no idea that our Clerk of Council Sandra Davis had passed. When I received the news of her passing, I was at an event. The people who were at my table saw my immediate reaction of grief. I was sitting at a table of family members who had recently had a loved one who passed in December. God has a way of showing me how spiritually connected we are to each other. Sandra was such an amazing person. I will always be grateful for her peaceful spirit. Such a sweet lady. If I had a District 4 award, she would be an “Unsung Hero”. She took care of the entire council and our constituents. Rest in paradise Sandra. You have earned your reward. 🙏
The CNAW2News.com team are sending our thoughts and prayers to Sandra’s family, friends, and colleagues. Rest in peace.
