‘Significant decomposition’ on human remains found in Lee County Monday afternoon, sheriff confirms
Lee County sheriff’s investigators have begun a probe following the discovery of human remains.
Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones said deputies responded to the scene in the 5000 block of Lee Road 391 and confirmed possible human remains around 5 P.M. on February 10, 2024.
The remains have significant decomposition, according to Sheriff Jones.
“The Lee County Coroner’s Office has submitted those remains to the ADFS Montgomery Medical Facility for identification and postmortem exam to determine the cause and manner of death,” Lee County Coroner Daniel Sexton said Monday night.
The remains are unidentified at this time and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the events leading up to the death.
