Woman charged after allegedly setting house on fire, stabbing two women, and taking their vehicle in Troup County
A wild incident in Troup County during the early morning hours of Wednesday is under investigation by the local sheriff’s office.
Authorities were originally called to a home invasion and reported structure fire just before 5 A.M. on March 12, 2025, in the 4000 block of New Franklin Road. When authorities arrived, a small building in the front yard was fully involved and two females inside the home were found. The females were discovered with stab wounds.

After the investigation, authorities determined 34-year-old Desjavae Conway, from Dayton, Ohio set the building on fire, unlawfully entered the home occupied by two females and for unknown reasons, stabbed each victim multiple times with a pair of scissors. She then stole their vehicle and left the location. Conway was located a short time later and placed in custody.
“It is not believed that Conway knew the victims nor what her motive was at this time,” authorities added.
Conway was charged with Home Invasion, Arson, Armed Robbery and two counts of Aggravated Assault. Conway is being held in the Troup County Jail without bond. This remains an active investigation.
