A police report was sent to CNAW2News.com on Friday, April 18, 2025, through an open records request. CNAW2News.com published an article on Thursday, April 17, 2025, advising of a district employee, identified as 20-year-old Trentavis Johnson, being charged with two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, using a computer service to seduce, solicit, lure, or entice child to commit illegal act, child molestation, and using computer to solicit a child at least 14YOA to commit illicit act if offender is 18 or younger.
The police report states that officers interviewed Trentavis Johnson, a custodian, on February 5th after school administrators, including the Discipline Dean, became aware of an employee texting a student inappropriate messages. School administrators became aware of the allegations after a staff member overheard athletes discussing text messages sent between a custodian and a student.
After law enforcement became aware of the allegations they held an interview with Trentavis Johnson, where Johnson told law enforcement he had just remembered his cousin might have been using his phone to text the girl in question and that his cousin had been asking about girls at Richards Middle School, so he provided him with the girl’s number.
“When asked how he obtained the number, Mr. Johnson stated that a girl’s friend had given it to him on a piece of paper, explaining that the girl thought he was attractive. He claimed that he did not save the number and had thrown the paper away”, according to the police report. “[The officer] then asked how he was able to give the number to his cousin if he had discarded it. Mr. Johnson responded that he has “somewhat of a photographic memory.”
During the interview, according to the report, Johnson became uncertain about many details, including his cousin’s last name, age, the school he attended, and what area he lived in. Johnson told law enforcement no other students had given him their phone numbers and denied contacting any other students or communicating with anyone from the school through text or social media platforms.
The investigation from officers and school administrators led to the identification of the student Johnson had been contacted as a female in 6th grade.
The police report says the 6th-grade student was asked about the text messages, and she denied that it had happened.
“[The school administrator] typed in the phone number of the custodian into her contacts, but nothing came up. She was sent back to class. A little while later, the student was back in the office for a separate incident and was asked again about the text messages,” the supplemental narrative said. “She denied them but handed over her phone to prove there were no messages. When she handed over her phone, the first number at the top of her messages was Trent Johnson’s number. When asked who it belonged to, she denied knowing. After a few more minutes of talking, the student finally admitted it was Trent Johnson’s number, but she was texting his brother, who was 13.”
According to the police narrative and report, the student admitted to deleting the messages because the content was of her “twerking,” and the individual responded with sexual acts he would do to her.
Muscogee County School District Police Department seized the student’s Apple iPhone 11, along with other evidence, including an Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max, an Apple iPad, a flash drive from Johnson’s iPhone, and additional flash drives.
Johnson, after being arrested and booked into the Muscogee County Jail, bonded out on March 13, 2025, on a surety bond, according to Muscogee County Jail records. The case was bound over to Superior Court on March 13, 2025.
Johnson was terminated immediately following the investigation and arrest, CNAW2News.com is being told. This case remains under investigation.
