Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan confirmed Judy Thomas, a former city councilor, passed away earlier today at Emory Hospital in Atlanta.
Thomas served as councilor for District 9 since 2011 and was known as the “queen of public safety”, even being honored by law enforcement and fire chiefs back in 2024 for her work toward their agencies.
Thomas resigned from her position nearly a month ago following health concerns.
Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family and friends of Judy Thomas.
