Smiths Station first responders on scene of HWY 280 crash
Authorities are on the scene of a multiple vehicle collision in Smiths Station.
Smiths Station Fire Protection District crews, Lee County deputies, EAMC ETS medical personnel, and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency troopers responded to the crash which occurred on U.S. Highway 280 East at Lee Road 430 — directly in front of the Smiths Station Fire Protection District Station 1 and the Lee County Flea Market.
At least two vehicles were involved. Multiple injuries have been reported and eastbound lanes are blocked along with one westbound lane.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area til further notice.
